Kryptopyrroles

Often people with depression or other mental health disorders have an abnormal production of a group of chemicals called pyrroles, this condition is known as Pyroluria or Pyrrole Disorder or Kryptopyrroles.

These pyrroles rob your body of vitamin B6, zinc and biotin causing them to be excreted in your urine resulting in a deficiency of these vitamins. An elevation in pyrroles may be a factor which is responsible for you or a loved one developing; epilepsy, ADD, autism, schizophrenia, hyperactivity, bi-polar disorder or depression.

What signs and symptoms of Pyroluria?

There are many signs, symptoms and emotional responses that may indicate an abnormal production of pyrroles by your body;

abdominal pain	abnormal body fat distribution	anxiousness
argumentative	cold hands and feet	constipation
difficulty remembering your dreams	dramatic	fatigue
frequent colds, fevers and chills as a child	frequent ear infections as a child	hyperactivity
hypersensitivity to loud noises	impotency in males	inability to think clearly
inability to tolerate drugs or alcohol	insomnia	lack of regular menstruation cycles in girls
mood swings and temper tantrums	morning nausea	much higher capability and alertness in the evening, compared to mornings
nervous exhaustion	pale skin, poor tanning, or burn easy in sun	poor memory
poor morning appetite and/or tendency to skip breakfast	preference for spicy or heavily flavoured foods	reading difficulties such as dyslexia
seizures	sensitivity to bright light	significant growth after the age of 16
unusual smelling body odour	unusual smelling breath

Are there any unusual body appearances associated with Pyroluria?

Yes, there are various physical appearances that may indicate you suffer from an excess in pyrroles such as;

if your family has black skin yours will be the lightest skin in your family	lack of hair on your head, eyebrows and eyelashes	pale skin which is prone to stretch marks
the teeth in your upper jar will often be overcrowded (unless orthodontic treatments have taken place)	white spots on your fingernails	you may suffer from acne, eczema or herpes
your tooth enamel has a poor appearance	your skin will be paper thin

What will the Kryptopyrrole test or Pyroluria Test tell me?

The Kryptopyrrole test will tell you if you have elevated pyrroles which are inhibiting vitamin B6, zinc and biotin from doing the many roles required of them for your body. With these results you will be recommended to make dietary, lifestyle and nutritional supplementary changes to help rectify your problem.

It makes sense to test yourself to find out whether pyrroles are a possible cause of your current or future health issues.

What is involved in the Kryptopyrroles Test or Pyroluria Test?

How reliable are the test results if the sample provided for testing is posted in the mail?

The Kyrptopyrrole Test is extremely accurate due to the fact that the urine sample you provide is frozen overnight with a preservative before being sent to the lab. Once the sample has been frozen the HPL is stabilised for up to 3 months.
